TERMS & CONDITIONS OF HIRE
THE CLIENT (HIRER)
As a person responsible for hiring an item from Fairytale Events Pty Ltd, we advise you to read our terms and conditions of hire. When placing an order you are confirming your understanding and are agreeing with these terms. You as the hirer will be held responsible for all items during the hiring period at all times until returned to Fairytale Events Pty Ltd.
BOOKINGS AND CANCELLATIONS
A 40% deposit of the total hire fee is required to confirm hire, this includes 40% of your security deposit. This must be paid to secure your hire, only when this has been paid is the hire confirmed. We understand that circumstances change sometimes, therefore if you cancel your booking prior to 30 days before the hire period commences we will retain the 40% deposit any additional payment above this amount will be refunded.
All final details including guest numbers for your event are to be confirmed 30 days prior to your event date, if we have not been given any update at this time the booking remains as initially confirmed.
If cancellations are made within the 30 days prior to the hire period commencing, the full hiring fee will be retained by Fairytale Events Pty Ltd, only the security deposit will be refundable.
Deductions equating to more than 25% of the original booking value are not permitted. We do not offer refunds for inability to use items due to weather conditions.
SPECIAL PROVISIONS COVID 19
As at 20th March 2020 any orders placed that need to be postponed due to Government event restrictions from the Covid 19 pandemic are eligible to be rescheduled at no additional charges. No refunds of deposits will be given. We ask that you confirm our availability for your new event date prior to securing all suppliers to avoid loss of deposit. Due to the Governments directive on event restrictions these terms are subject to change in the future.
PAYMENT OPTIONS & RETURN OF SECURITY BONDS
Many clients are required to pay a security bond. The value of the security bond will vary pending the value of your booking and nature of products hired. Security bonds applicable will be listed on your quote and invoice. When returning Security Bonds, Fairytale Events Pty Ltd will return the funds via direct deposit. Please provide your bank account details so we can transfer your bond. Alternatively, to paying your security bond or for large orders requiring a higher value bond, a photocopy of the front and back of your credit card can be taken and used at security instead (debit cards are not accepted). A current photocopy copy of the front and back of your driver’s license is also required. These copies will be disposed of when items are returned in original condition.
Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Public Holidays requiring our attendance on site will incur an additional surcharge of 20% to your order.
HIRE PERIODS AND DELAYED RETURNS
The DIY hire period is for a total of five (5) days. Item(s) will be ready for collection from the Thursday prior to your event and must be returned on the following Monday before 6pm. If an item(s) is returned after this, the hirer will be charged the full hire fee again. In the event that goods are not returned prior to the commencement of a new hire period, the hirer will be liable to pay the full cost of a replacement item so we can fulfil our hire agreement with the next customer who has the item/s booked. The hirer will be issued with an invoice for the balance payable to replace the items. Replacement value of items will be charged at Fairytale Events Pty Ltd discretion.
DECORATION & CLEANING OF HIRED ITEMS
You may choose to decorate hired items, no staples, screws, sticky tape or other products causing marks to the hired item may be used. When cleaning items, be sure to use a cleaning agent not likely to cause damage. All items supplied by Fairytale Events Pty Ltd must be returned in the same order, cleanliness and condition they were hired in. Under no circumstances are any hire items to be placed in the dishwasher for cleaning. Items such as cupcake stands, vases, tealights & glassware are to be wiped with a soft warm soapy cloth, cleaning is required prior to return. All items are to be returned in the packaging provided.
Chair sashes are to be untied prior to return or additional charges will apply.
In the event that items are returned without being cleaned Fairytale Events Pty Ltd will automatically deduct a cleaning fee from the security bond.
* Cleaning fees vary for below items
- All linen hired is exempt from cleaning charges as it is laundered by Fairytale Events Pty Ltd upon return. In the event of excessive staining or permanent marking replacement fees and/or loss of the security bond will apply.
- If candle wax is present on any linen, charges for full replacement of the item will apply.
- White & Red carpets are cleaned on a regular basis by Fairytale Events. All marks or stains to any carpet hire item by the hirer, their guests or any other party is the hirer’s responsibility. In the event of marking or staining to the carpet the hirer will be charged a cleaning fee of $100. In the event of stains remaining after cleaning the hirer will be charged for full price of a replacement carpet.
- No fresh rose petals to be used on white carpets, if fresh petals are used you will be liable for the full price of a replacement carpet.
- Under no circumstances are any carpets to be laid on wet or muddy grounds or to be laid in wet weather.
The cost of ceiling installation excludes rigging unless specified on your order. Rigging is to be organised by the client with the venue and thereafter Fairytale Events will liase with the rigger regarding the ceiling installation. Scissor lifts are not included in your hire unless specified on your order, it is your responsibility to advise us if the ceiling anchoring point is over 4m in height. If a scissor lift is required we will arrange this at additional costs.
Outdoor ceremonies cover a 4hour time window, we require minimum 1 hour prior to guest arrival for set up. We require minimum ½ hour for pack down. We require all clients to provide a wet weather back up location for outdoor ceremonies. We will move your set up to a new location within 20km when given 3 hours notice, free of charge. If your ceremony start time is be moved more than 1 hour from the booked time due to wet weather, a fee of $60 per hour for each hour outside your booking window applies. A change in your ceremony time is ONLY subject to availability as we may be committed to another booking on the same day.
DAMAGES AND PERSONAL LIABILITY
If any item(s) is not returned in the original order and condition, the hirer’s Security Bond will be forfeited to Fairytale Events Pty Ltd. In the event of hire item(s) damaged to the value greater than the security bond amount, requiring full replacement, or if any item(s) are lost damaged or are in any other way not returned in original condition. The hirer will be issued with an invoice for the balance payable to replace the items. Replacement value of items will be charged at Fairytale Events discretion.
All item(s) are hired in good order and condition. The hirer is responsible for the item(s) at all times until returned to Fairytale Events. All damage to any item by the hirer, their guests or any other party is the hirer’s responsibility.
Fairytale Events Pty Ltd shall not be responsible for any delays, inconvenience loss of any kind incurred to the hirer due to any accident or defect in the rented equipment or any part thereof or from any cause whatsoever. All goods handled, lifted and or carried entirely at the risk of the hirer.
It is acknowledged that Fairytale Events Pty Ltd gives no warranty as to the suitability of the said items for the hirers purpose. All items hired are at the hirers risk from the time they are collected/delivered until the time they are picked up/returned to Fairytale Events.
